As flagged in previous newsletters, our mobile dental service, established and operated as the QCoal Community Dental Service for the past four years has secured Commonwealth Funding and been re-launched as the RFDS Dental Service. The relaunched service has already started treating patients in Winton and Camooweal.
Speaking at the launch during the Winton swing, RFDS Board Member Bruce Scott acknowledged the role of the QCoal Foundation and the QCoal Group as Founding Partners.
“Without the dedicated advocacy and financial support from our Founding Partners in the initial four years, while known as the QCoal Community Dental Service, we would not have been able to reach the stage we are now at, where we can deliver this service as a standalone RFDS program,” Mr Scott said.
QCoal Foundation Chair Christopher Wallin said it was extremely rewarding for the Foundation to see its flagship program go from strength to strength.
“The Federal Government recognised the value of the service in treating over 8000 patients in 4 years and the Government’s support is proof that private-public partnerships can lead to real and lasting outcomes,” Mr Wallin said. “Proving this model can be sustainable is a real win for the QCoal Foundation.”
